Commander Roy Fokker was orphaned as a child. Following in the footsteps of his father and his adopted father, Pop Hunter, Roy joined the Navy and after flying Tomcats, Hornets, and Falcons, was on hand for the SDF-1's crash landing. After becoming part of Project: Valkyrie, Roy was made the commander of the same squadron he had on the Kenosha, the illustrious Skull Squadron.
After the SDF-1's ill-fated spacefold next to Earth, Roy soon became the commander of all air squadrons on the SDF-1 and has taken under his wing a new project, the IPA's Black Sheep Squadron. A joint strike wing created shortly after Roy entered the Gateverse, it is composed mostly of mecha pilots. Loyal, confident and willful, Roy easily lends a hand wherever it is needed.
